Lumen, a private-event venue owned by Pat Shannon of Mike Shannon's and Pete Ferretti and Buddy Coy of Pepper Lounge, opened at 2201 Locust St. in the Packard Lofts building with a party Dec. 28 hosted by Orlando Pace for his Rams teammates. Renovated at a cost of $1.4 million, Lumen is booking weddings and corporate and charity events for up to 500 guests. (Tony LaRussa has booked an ARF benefit.) "It's called Lumen, meaning light, because we have a state-of-the-art LED system that makes the ballroom glow in any color," said Amit Dhawan of Synergy Productions, who is doing the marketing.
