White Chocolate Gnocchi? No problem. Scallop Corndog? A cinch. Custom menu for 300? Easy. Meet Nick, the creative chef we are lucky to call our own! Nick graduated from the California Culinary Academy in San Francisco in 2001. His experience speaks for itself, working at The Hudson House, the private dining room at Beringer Winery in St. Helena, California, with Executive Chef David Frakes. In October of 2002, Nick moved to St. Louis and took a job at Harvest, and seven years after, he and his wife Krissie became the owners. Nick has been named in Best Chef’s America 2013 among many other culinary awards. His forte is farm to table, seasonal ingredients, and his bread pudding has been rumored to be the best dessert in town. The 23 City Blocks team is envious of Nick's three kids who get to eat anything and everything Nick whips up for dinner.
Senior Event Manager
Hey y’all, meet Casey! Considered the young veteran of the group, she’s luckily been able to call herself a part of the 23 City Blocks team since the inception. After more than 100 events, coordinating still hasn’t lost that spark that got her lost in this beautifully chaotic industry that we live in. From perfectly planned parties to those think-fast-on-your-feet moments, from non-profit galas to extravagant weddings, she’s mesmerized by it all. Nicknamed the #goldenchild, Casey's positive attitude, passionate work ethic and sparking personality make her an invaluable asset to the team. When she’s not color coordinating her calendars, you can probably find her on the soccer pitch, both coaching and playing, or her yoga mat. This girl is always smiling, but especially when a strong cup of coffee with friends or when a home cooked meal with family is involved.
Hey there everybody, meet Rose! She joined 23 City Blocks Catering as our favorite intern in June of 2015 after graduating from Eastern Illinois University! After many [voluntary!] coffee runs, hundreds of creative client gifts, and a few confetti bombs later, we decided to keep her around permanently. From the start, Rose had not only the knack, but also the passion for planning to her fullest potential. She’s endlessly curious, serving as our office “whack a mole” never afraid to pop up from her cubical to ask a question, and consistently evolving, learning the business like the back of her hand. Rose’s bubbly personality makes her clients feel right at home, earning their trust and confidence to handle anything that may be thrown her way. Utilizing her skills, experience, and excitement for the event industry, she does everything in her power to pull off a flawless execution. When the occasional off weekend rolls around, you can find her binge watching Greys Anatomy for the 9th time or frolicking through whichever city she’s up for discovering that with some of her favorite people by her side. Her love of travel stemmed from an incredible opportunity to study abroad in Southern Europe where she learned wine at lunch isn’t ever a bad idea!
Oh hey there! Meet the newest member of the 23 City Blocks Team, Courtney! Her journey to becoming an Event Manager has not been a conventional one, but she is finding her place in this business at just the right time. She graduated from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in 2014 and has since used her people skills to help plan events in a constantly evolving industry! Courtney most recently worked as a wedding day specialist at a local event planning firm. She brings her passion of helping others enjoy the best day of their lives to this exciting new opportunity. You can almost always find her laughing and swinging her flowing, fiery red locks over her shoulder; and when she isn’t soaking up all the information she can, you can find her at Busch Stadium cheering on her favorite boys of summer and dancing the nights away.
St. Louis born and raised, Katie has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication from Saint Louis University. She loved SLU so much she started as an event planner there before joing 23 City Blocks Catering. Katie appreciates a witty sense of humor and her favorite sound is a bottle of champagne popping! Even after working on countless weddings, without fail, she still gets choked up every time a bride begins her walk down the aisle. Katie has seen every episode of ‘Friends’ and an embarrassing amount of times yet still not tired of the show! And, like a foodie we love, she’ll make up any excuse to go to brunch.
